A frightfully fun costume contest for pets
Elitch Gardens hosted the 11th Annual Pet Parade this last weekend featuring a pet costume contest in three categories-funniest, most original and best owner/pet combination. Sponsored by KYGO, the event benefited the Denver Dumb Friends League, one of Colorado's most successful animal shelters.
It's a funny thing that our pets can bring us smiles from the silliest little things they do. But when you put them in a costume, it's really a treat. For the contest, everything from little dogs in pink princess-like breast cancer costumes to a goat in "goat getting eaten by a shark" costume graced the stage. Owners were also encouraged to dress-up, which resulted in some of the most creative and hilariously coordinated people costumes. A great cause and tons of fun even just to watch, be sure to keep an eye out for next years contest!
