Getting candid with Miss Colorado as she ships off to the Miss America Pageant

You’ve probably spotted the beautiful brunette around town sporting her Miss Colorado 2010 sash at various events and functions over the year. We first met Melaina Shipwash at the Jet Set Fashion Show where she was there to help raise awareness for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation.
She was a show-stopper in every way even with stars such as Jamie Foxx and Quincy Jones present—her outer beauty was evident but behind that bright smile is also a 24-year-old girl with a big heart and even bigger dreams.
Melaina Shipwash is from Colorado Springs and was crowned Miss Colorado in June 2010. She is now going to compete at the Miss America Pageant which will air live on ABC on January 15, 2011.
We sat down and got candid with Melaina before she packs her bags for the Miss America Pageant to find out how she’s prepared for the big night and to try and get the dish on who her biggest Miss 'Rival' is before the competition.
