Rapids fans start the season off right
The Colorado Rapids made history last season winning the MLS Cup. Dick's Sporting Goods Park was packed with fans and much excitement Saturday.
Tailgaters got there hours before the game to celebrate and pre-game for the big game. The burgundy flooded the parking lot, and was full of kegs, food, drinking games and good spirits. Fans sang and chanted throughout the day and through the game. Metromix.com jumped around to each tailgate and got shots of the crazy fans. You could feel the energy for the new season and the pride of being the best team around.
Every fan in the stadium got championship flags that were waved furiously the entire game. The Rapids were victorious with a 3-1 win over the Portland Timbers. There is no doubt that the Rapids fans were not only thirsty for more drinks but also, thirsty for another big season. As Charlie Sheen would say, "The Rapids and fans alike were winning!”
