Metromix gets airborne with SkyVenture
Metromix took to the friendly skies (sort of) recently with our good friends at SkyVenture Colorado. SkyVenture uses a vertical wind tunnel to give customers a skydiving experience without that whole jumping out of an airplane thing.
The sport might be safer and easier to learn than full-fledged skydiving, but that doesn't mean it lacks for excitement or challenge. At first, it was all we could do to keep aloft and not spin into the walls. But after some time with our friendly instructor, things got a lot easier (although our faces still rippled in the breeze like windsocks). The real thrill came when our instructor went airborne with us and helped us execute some basic tricks.
If we learned one thing from SkyVenture, it's this: Relaxing your body may sound like the easiest athletic technique in the world, but it's easier said than done when you're floating in a 120 mph typhoon of awesomeness.
