Adoptable dogs and local models strut their stuff at Mile High Station
The 2nd Annual Project RUFFway benefit brought dozens of pooches and pet-lovers to Mile High Station Friday night for drinks, music, food and runway-strutting fun. Attendees also had the rare chance to take some of the models (the four-legged ones, at least) home with them: they were all up for adoption from Table Mountain Animal Rescue.
It was a special evening for some of the dogs, as temporary permits were attained to have some of the pit bull mixes allowed in the city of Denver. The breed is stigmatized for being overly violent. But, after seeing some of these pooches prance up and down the runway licking viewers faces (despite camera flashes and loud, intoxicated distractions amongst the crowd), it was clear that many people went home having a different notion about the breed.
