7th Annual Denver Gorilla Run
While most of the city was sleeping in this Saturday morning, there were over one thousand Denverites who were busy suiting up. In gorilla suits that is, and running a 5.6K race to boot. It may seem like pure madness, that many people parading around chasing human bananas through Denver. But the Denver Gorilla Run benefits the Mountain Gorilla Conservation Fund. Mountain gorillas are found in Africa and are a highly endangered species. Even Wynkoop Brewery pitches in, giving half of the proceeds on select beers to the foundation. So if you didn't run this year, be sure to plan ahead. This race always takes place the Saturday before Halloween. With registration, runners, walkers, or even rollerbladers will all be given a full gorilla suit. Sweaty fur and all.
