Boulder Creek Hometown Fair
Between Central Park and Boulder Public Library -
1001 Arapahoe Ave. -
Boulder
Come one, come all to the Boulder Creek Hometown Fair over Labor Day weekend! The celebration features arts & crafts exhibitors in Central Park and on the Boulder Public Library lawn along the creek, great live performances on 2 stages (the Bandshell and Festival Stage), a food court & beer garden, the infamous Chili Inferno Cook-Off, Classic Car Show, and an entire children’s area with carnival rides and exhibitors, the Great Zucchini Race, Big Wheel 300 races, a Fire/Rescue Safety Expo, and much more! Don’t miss out on the festivities of this unique community event.
Chili Inferno Cook-off
Between Central Park and Boulder Public Library -
1001 Arapahoe Ave. -
Boulder
Chili Cook-off Inferno began back in 1983 and has since become a widely popular event. We know what you're picturing right now: Homer Simpson trying all the chili at the Springfield Fair and burning his mouth off with Flanders chili. Yes, yes. This is sort of similar to the actual events taking place on Labor Day in Boulder. Just replace Homer Simpson and put our very own Metromix Producer, Erica Boniface in his spot and instead of it being the Springfield Fair, it is the Boulder Creek Hometown Fair. Once you do that your picture will be dead-on.

The Allman Brothers Band blended strains of Southern music — blues, R&B, country, jazz, and gospel — into a flexible, jam-oriented style that reflected the emergence of the "New South" and set the style for Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Marshall Tucker Band, and countless other Southern rockers.

CU Buffs vs. Colorado State

Colorado Rockies vs. Cincinnati Reds
- Coors Field - 2001 Blake St - Lodo
Feel that tingle in your throat? Maybe you’re just a little clammy today. The diagnosis: Rockies fever. Call in sick and head on down to Coors Field for a dose of Rocky Mountain oysters (or a bratwurst) while you watch the boys of summer battle for National League West supremacy under the Rocky Mountain sunshine. Just don’t forget the sunscreen or it’ll be really hard to convince the boss you weren’t playing hooky. We don’t want to see you get burned twice.
