Are you sick of doing the usual Halloween house party? We thought so. That is why we have compiled a list of where some of the best Halloween parties will be around town and up in Boulder. Whether you are jonesin' for a good concert, a good costume contest or just a flippin wicked party, we have the answer for you. Now the only thing you need to worry about is whether or not you're going to get chased by zombies at the end of the night.

We don't like to brag or anything, but Metromix is known for throwing some killer parties in the past. On Halloween, we won't disappoint. We're throwing the largest Halloween party in the city. With over 15,000 square feet and four themed rooms, this party will be like one you only see in Vegas. With magicians, stilt walkers, fire performers, jugglers, DJs and live bands, you know you're in for the best Halloween yet. Stay tuned, just when you think it couldn't get any better, it does. We're also throwing a Halloween Costume Fashion Show and costume contest!

Gregg Gillis is back. Name doesn't ring a bell? He is the man behind the huge pop-electronica sensation "Girl Talk" as he takes the world for a whirl. Tonight he is bringing you a mish-mash of great hits for Halloween. He is joined with The Death Set and CX Kidtronik. We're excited for the night, we're not going to lie. You have to check out his new album, "Feed the Animals" to truly get a taste for what Girl Talk is all about. Happy Halloween!

Night of the Talking Heads

Not only the dead will rise this Halloween as Boulder's The Motet brings to life the music of the Talking Heads at Cervantes Masterpiece Ballroom. Joined by Kyle Hollingsworth of String Cheese Incident, the evening promises a full setlist of David Byrne classics and many special guests.

Come on, come all to Soiled Dove's Halloween bash! Whip out your best costumes and come to flaunt your stuff. Not only is it on the evening of Halloween, one of the best holidays there is, the U2 tribute band, Under a Blood Red Sky, will be performing. $15 for this? We'd say that is a steal.

Celebrate Halloween with Jedi Mind Tricks

If you're a huge hip hop fan, there is no doubt where your calling is this Halloween—at the Fox Theatre to see Jedi Mind Tricks. The duo is back with a killer new album, "History of Violence" and they're ready to celebrate the spooky holiday with you this evening. For $20, you can come and rap-out, wear a costume and imbibe in some cocktails. Sounds perfect to us.

But for Conor O'Neills Halloween party, they'll have a reason to go out and have a ball. The Boulder Americana band, Mumbouli, will be playing live for the annual Halloween bash.

Formerly Fear Before the March of Flames, a rabid fanbase has kept this experimental rock group at the top of the mp3.com charts. The event, hosted by the always eccentric and entertaining Maris the Great, also features other local acts Animo, High Five, Set Fire to Athens and In Seperate Cities.

What better place to celebrate Halloween than at a brewery in the middle of the mountains? Last heard, horror maestro Wes Craven was already writing the script. But don't be scared, it's all good times at Oskar Blues Cajun Grill and Brewery. The beer will give you courage and the soul warming jams of Lyons locals Interstate Stash Express will drown out the screams.

Maybe one of the vixens behind the bar will divulge if you buy enough. Lime is also giving away three $300 bar tabs for best costumes. That's enough blood to give Dracula a hangover.

A church might seem like the safest place to observe Halloween, but at The Church the hallowed halls will be packed with club creatures of all types as Twenty40 throws a Naughty Tricks, Sexy Treats Halloween Bash. There's a $1,000 prize for best costume so your sheet with eye holes probably is not going to cut it. The evening features Ascension, Devious D, Shea Delany with J Burkhart and Spank E on the turntables.

Foundry costume party

With drink specials, hot college students in costumes and a special DJ coming in to drop it like it's hot, we'd say The Foundry's Halloween party is gonna be rowdy. Get there early, from what we have learned in the past, The Foundry gets absolutely packed on Halloween....so if you wanna get in without waiting in the cold, be an early drinking bird.

Dick Black Halloween Comedy Showcase

Forget the tick or treating and come down to the 404 Club for some adult humor Denver comedians deliver you a show full of laughs and screams. Dick Black will be the host on this laughtacular evening.
