Halloween parties in Denver 2009

Ghoulishly crazy parties + creative costumes = Halloween shenanigans

November 4, 2009

Metromix was out on the town big time over Halloween weekend in Denver. We managed to hit the hottest parties and capture the craziness for you to relive until next year. Between the Alice 105.9 Exotic Ball kicking off Halloween weekend and Metromix's very own Haunted Hyatt party shutting the holiday down, we'd say this was the best Halloween in Denver, ever.

Sure, that's a big statement, but when you look at all the galleries below, you'll go through mixed emotions. At first, you'll laugh at some of the costumes people gallivanted around in (such as The Village People at the Grizzly Rose Ball in slide 25), and then your jaw will drop at Denver's beautiful women baring all in their sexy costumes (too many slides to give you specifics...hunt them down on your own). Either way, the one thought you'll leave with is the pure fact that Denverites get into Halloween more than any other city out there.

Metromix brought Halloween to life at the Hyatt

Halloween's not a holiday easily overlooked...especially when you have multiple entertainment powerhouses teaming up to throw a party worth remembering for years to come. But what such party is that, you ask? The Metromix Haunted Hyatt Hotel party, of course! At The Hyatt Regency DTC, hundreds of ghoulish guests strut their best Halloween attire. But who's kidding who? While everyone looked great, the guests of the JJ Walker, Greg Bloom's and Kevin Larson presents' party got down and dirty at the hottest event of the year. The evening showcased a massive text message based costume contest, wrestling matches, dance offs, cirque acts, and live music from the U2 cover band A Blood Red Sky and Funkiphino.

Alice 105.9's Exotic Ball spooks Denver

Sexy superheroes, freaky face paint and creative home-made costumes, were just some of the reasons why Suite 200 was so packed Friday night. Alice 105.9, certainly did it again; they managed to put together one of the greatest parties in Denver. It wouldn't have even had to have been the weekend of Halloween to make this year's Exotic Ball worth checking out. A $1,000 prize was given away at the end of the night to the best costume. Many other prizes were given away as well. A free photo booth had a line of people forever long, and the bar was pouring cocktails all night. If you missed it this year, come October of next year, we hope you're ready to experience Denver's most famous Halloween bash.

Halloween eve at The Church

In what looks to be yet another year of rambunctious Halloween fun around Denver, The Church kicked off the weekend with its Naughty Tricks & Sexy Treats Halloween party. A suiting venue for a Halloween party, The Church is housed in a gothic cathedral. Under the flashy lights and beats, one person even walked away with $1000 after winning the costume contest.

Wu-Tang legend kills it in Boulder

This Halloween in Boulder it was time to get your rap on like a mummy, or whatever costume you decided on. Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah graced The Fox Theatre on Saturday night to give an extra option for those party goers looking to light up the night with some fantastic hip hop.

Grizzly Rose Halloween Ball gets wild

It's hard to say which ensemble was scarier Saturday night at the Grizzly Rose's annual Halloween Ball: the 12-foot-tall Grim Reaper or the historically (and anatomically) accurate revival of the Village People. In what was perhaps the most wide-ranging Halloween event of the night, fright fans aged from barely legal to senior citizens packed the dance hall for a costume contest and hours of mish-mashed partying.

Crazy costumes warm up the dance party at Spill Lounge

If you are a Colorado native, then you remember as a kid your mom making you put on a coat over your Halloween costume to go trick-or-treating, which was always the worst. But now that you’re all grown up, you can rock your Halloween costumes without bundling up, this time with drink in hand ready to dance the night away. And that’s exactly what went down Thursday at one of Denver’s hottest clubs, Spill Lounge. Spill hosted Spilloween, a night of costumes, dancing, beverages and as much pre-Halloween fun as anyone could handle on a weeknight.

Some seriously hot french maids, fairies, referees, and taxi drivers

Let’s be honest, Halloween and dance clubs go hand in hand. What’s a better mix than going to a party where there is dancing and everybody is dressed in sexy costumes? So Club Beta decided to prepare all of you for this year's best party holiday and give some ideas for how to be smoking hot in costume with their Halloween costume fashion show as part of the Haunted Hotel Pre-Party on Saturday night.
