Auraria Campus hosts holiday gaming bash
If someone mentioned finals Wednesday night at the Tivoli Student Union, they weren't talking about anything in the classroom. On Dec. 3, the only finals worth discussing were ones like the Halo 3 tournament or Rockband 2 finals. For this video game blow out (hosted by the Auraria Campus soccer club, TASC, in association with gaming tournament master Cutthroat Colorado Connection), upwards of 100 students came out to compete in over 15 different games on three systems. As most of the campus makes a last push towards closing out the semester, these video game vultures jammed out for over six hours. The night started off with a little free-for-all gaming to get those digits warmed up, and as the night went on, big hits like Rockband 2, Halo 3 and Smash Brothers had sweat dripping down the controllers. Free Nas energy drinks and food were served, and with Ultimate Electronics and Gamestop showing up to supply all the latest gaming goods, this was one button-pushing bonanza.
