Opening Day and Coors Field
After the Rockies went all Chuck Norris on us last season, fans were pumped and ready for Opening Day 2008. Festivities lined the streets of Blake Street, bands were blaring their music, dunk tanks were set up in bars, sexy Coors Light girls were flaunting what their mama’s gave them, seasoned Rockies fans had their circa 1995 shirts on and drunk college students were chugging their beer as they prepped for their heckles to Diamondacks left fielder, Eric Brynes—the fans were taking over the streets. A police officer was even spotted guzzling down his Starbucks frappuccino as he signaled traffic throughout the assiduous intersections. In the end, the Rockies lost Opening Day. At least the fans were too drunk to care. Go Rockies. Oh, and Byrnes, “you suck!”
