Tuaca stimulates the senses
February 15, 2009
The transformation of the human body into a canvas took a giant evolutionary step forward on Feb. 15, as the Tuaca Body Art Ball Evolution morphed the Ogden Theatre into a breathing work of art.
The second stop on a nine city tour from Feb. 8 to April 20, electrifying dances, heart-pounding music, and remarkable body painting made the Body Art Ball one of the most unique shows to pass through the venue in quite sometime.
Adding to the excitement of the Ball, Tuaca teamed with world-renowned body painter and make-up artist Joanne Gair as a spokesperson for the tour. Gair’s best-known for her artwork on Demi Moore, wearing nothing but a suit of body paint on the cover of Vanity Fair’s August 1992.
Produced by Dallas-based Chris and Candy Productions, visual artists convert performers into living, breathing works of art for a show that dazzles the audience with a presentation to music and synchronized lights.
The creators of body art are abstract, airbrush or tattoo artists who bring to life the evolution of various body art forms over time in different cultures.
Even with Valentine’s Day the day before—it was one of the most stimulating nights in recent memory.
