“Pulse Arts” brings in Denver’s freshest kicks
Imagine going to your high school prom and being able to strut your sickest pair of sneakers, enjoy a few cocktails, and do it all for a good cause. At Pulse Arts’ first annual “Sneaker Prom,” you could do all that, minus the high school part.
Pulse threw the fundraiser party in what anybody there would say was a successful attempt to raise awareness for the arts. “We are firm believers that the arts are powerful tools in combating generational poverty and apathy while also promoting positive social change.”
The evening also honored the Denver Nuggets most successful playoff bid ever. Rodney Billups, locally grown superstar Chauncey Billups’ little brother, accepted a thank you complete with a hand-designed backboard on behalf of his brother. A silent auction featuring fresh kicks and signed basketball memorabilia ran for most of the night; and as any good prom does, the evening closed out with a prom king and queen naming.
