Fresh Hop celebration at Falling Rock brings in the hop heads
Falling Rock Tap House celebrated the hop harvest on Saturday along with Colorado breweries Great Divide, Oskar Blues and Ska Brewing; and Oregon's Deschutes and Full Sail breweries. All of the breweries brought their seasonally brewed Fresh Hop ales, a process that involves using hops within 24 hours of being harvested, often skipping the kilning step. Grand Junction’s The Williams Brothers Band serenaded the crowd as they sipped on suds in the sun along Blake Street. Attendees were asked to vote on their favorite brews and Deschutes took first followed by Great Divide in second, and Ska Brewing coming in third.
