The Lingerie Football League comes to Denver

“It’s beautiful women taking each other's heads off,” chairman and owner of the Lingerie Football League Mitchell Mortaza tells us.  “You really can’t beat it.”

And Metromix agrees. The Lingerie Football League is kicking off in 10 cities this fall and features gorgeous women in pads and lingerie playing good old full contact football. Each team will have two home games and two away games starting in the fall. The best of the bunch will go on to the play-offs that will end in Miami, on the NFL’s Super bowl weekend.

On March 13, the league held its first round of tryouts for the Denver Dream, their official name. The tryouts included both offensive and defensive drills as well as a 40-yard dash, tackling drills and a 7 on 7 scrimmages to give the girls an idea of what the real thing will be like.

The rules are similar to regular tackle football, except that the games will be made up of two 15 minutes halves, the fields will be a little smaller, and there will be no punting or field goals. It’s a fast-paced game, and while the girls may be gorgeous, they certainly know how to hit.

“It’s like an adult Disney World for football fans,” claims Mortaza. ”Each game will have hours of tailgating and an after party at local clubs and bars in each city.”

Afterwards, Metromix caught up with the clear favorite for quarterback, Lindsey Szvetits. It was obvious that the group played better on the defensive side of the ball, but with speed, agility, hard hits and an arm, Szvetits kept the scales balanced. Responding to whether she could hang with competition she has seen on YouTube, Szvetits says, “Hell yeah! It’ll be competitive, but hell yes!”

A graduate from Villanova, Szvetits is a mom, wife, gym owner, fitness model and basketball player. “It’s hard to find a hat I haven’t worn,” she jokes.

Even though the league is somewhat new, the future is very promising as they plan to add four new teams each year. According to Mortaza, some of these girls, namely the MVPs of the bowl games, will be raking in close to six figures a year.

In Denver, both home games will be held at Dicks Sporting Goods Park and tickets will go on sale Monday at 10AM on Tickethorse.com. There will also be a red carpet party at Lavish Lounge after the players are picked from this round of try-outs on Saturday, March 13.
