Snapshot: The Drowsy Chaperone
Blurring the line
An agoraphobic Broadway devotee copes with "non-specific sadness" by listening to the classic 1928 musical comedy The Drowsy Chaperone in this homage to American musicals of the Jazz Age. His woes melt away when the first notes flow from his speakers as his dingy apartment is transformed into a garish set full of ornate backdrops and beautiful actresses. The line between audience and performer is blurred in this hilarious Tony Award-winning musical. Playing through Oct. 26.
