For novice sushi eaters it is often hard to quantify what separates the good bars from the divine. It is something so minute that sets a brilliant piece of fish apart from the mundane, yet the difference is colossal. Sushi Den does all the small things right, and in turn has taken its 22 years in the business to become one of Denver’s best sushi eateries. If you find yourself at a loss to explain the exemplary taste in each cut of nigiri, don’t fret; what you are tasting is passion.
Every dish is crafted from the very finest ingredients with the most experienced hands. The owner, Toshi Kizaki has a branch in Japan run by his brother Koichi, giving Sushi Den unfettered access to the superlative seafood in the world. In order to have entrance to the top markets in Japan one has to be a licensed restaurateur in the country. With his Asian station in place, fish is overnighted to Denver several times a week. This urgency deliver a critical element for perfect sushi: guaranteed freshness.
