Denver fireworks bring a spectacular start to 2010
Denver lights up for 2010
January 1, 2010
New Year's Eve firworks are a world wide tradition. From Moscow, to Beijing, to New York and to Los Angeles, the sky lights up at midnight every December 31st. And Denver knows how to keep the tradition alive. Although this year's displays (the first at 9 p.m. and one at midnight) were not exactly breathtaking, it was still a great way to celebrate the start of 2010. At only eight minutes long the firework shows (launched directly behind the D&F Clocktower on the 16th St. Mall) brought thousands of partygoers out in the cold.
Another reason to celebrate the New Year in D-town, is because it's free. Sure, your drinks and the new sparkly dress cost you a few precious pennies, but to crowd together on 16th and watch the bright and booming fireworks is completely free. If you didn't make it for 2010, you now have 12 months to plan ahead for next New Year's Eve.
