We shine a light on this dark survival horror game

One of the first, if not the first, survival horror games was 1992's “Alone in the Dark.” So it's fitting that the newest would be have you trying to endure the terror of being on your own in a place devoid of light.

In “Alan Wake,” which Microsoft will release on the Xbox 360 this April or May, you actually have to be afraid of the dark because the things coming after you are afraid of the light. Which requires you to get rather creative with fire, electricity and your personality—anything that can light up a room.
