It’s hard to name your favorite shows on any given day, let alone narrowing down the chosen few that really stood out in a decade that saw TV pull a complete 180, from a mere distraction to a revered cultural pastime. 

But that’s what we’re here to do. As a decade, the ‘00s were defined by both a lack of a cohesive moniker and some of the best television series ever produced. And while more than a few familiar faces are exempt for debuting in the late '90s—sorry, "Sopranos"!—we think you’ll agree that this lot is more than up to snuff. Or maybe not.
