UFC Fight Night gets rowdy at Oak Tavern
The battle rages on the screen and the drinks flow at the bar

For guys, sometimes there is nothing better than getting together with some buddies and watching a brutal, no-holds-barred fight on TV. Usually this will occur in a less-than-clean bachelor pad on some mismatched couches with too many people in a crowded living room sporting random posters on the wall. Thankfully, Oak Tavern downtown decided they would help bring out these reclusive bachelors from their musty pads and into a hip bar with good food, good drinks and, of course, some ladies. So on Saturday night, they hosted UFC Fight Night, showing the epic battle between Randy "The Natural" Couture and Brandon Vera on their multiple flat screens. Even as the snow piled up outside in Denver, UFC fanatics made their way downtown to grab some beers and watch the light heavyweight class bout. The bar filled up early to catch all of the different fights that led up to the main event. Not suprisingly, The Denver Rugby Club was on hand, taking in all of the action on the screen, amongst a wide variety of other bargoers that included the Coors Light girls and a couple girls from the Lingerie Football League. In the end, Couture won the fight against Vera, but only by a narrow margin decided by the judges with a score of 29-28. That certainly wasn't the end of the fun for everyone at Oak Tavern as they kept the energy up for the rest of the night!
