2009 Scream Scram 5K
Hundreds of costume-clad racers dash through Wash Park
October 23, 2009
The Halloween season is clearly in full swing in Denver, made apparent by the dozens of spooky themed events all around town. From human and pet costume contests, haunted houses and upcoming Halloween parties, including Metromix's own Haunted Hotel, it's definitely that time of year.
Right on par with the rest of the city, the 10th Annual Scream Scram, a 5K run and walk, took place this past Friday in the cold, crisp, fall air of Wash Park. Hundreds of people showed up in costume and sweated out the evening for fun and for a good cause. The evening not only featured a orange carpet costume contest after the race, but also, proceeds from the race benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver (BGCMD.org) and the Colorado Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS).
