Before the economy swerved into a ditch and exploded, Matt Farley was a promising young reporter whose crime and features coverage was syndicated by The Associated Press, USA Today and IGN, among other respectable outlets. Now, as Metromix Denver’s music editor and producer, he spends a lot of time in sticky-floored rock clubs and obscure tap houses, searching for bands, brews and sweaty scenesters worthy of the drinkingest site in town. So far he likes his second career better, Pulitzer Committee be damned.

 A Nevada native, Matt can confirm that “Reno 911” was virtually a documentary, although no one here believes him that northern Nevada gets just as cold as Colorado. He’s a dive bar guy at heart, but will hang out anywhere as long as he can find a good story and a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. His other interests include cooking, road trips and brunettes who wear glasses.
