Broncos maniacs tailgate at Invesco Field
Die-hard fans chill out (literally) before the game
Bronco fans are some of the most hardcore fans in the NFL. Don't believe so? Well maybe you forgot about the barrel man (real name Tim McKernan) who attended all Broncos games at home in Invesco Field wearing nothing but a barrel, even if it was 10 degrees and dumping snow.
This is the commitment that was shown by Broncos fans as they filled the parking lots of Invesco prior to the Broncos vs. Patriots game on Sunday, despite extremely less than warm temperatures. A sea of orange and blue colored tents mixed with the vans, buses, and RVs brought specifically for the purpose of grilling and beveraging before the game. This isn't mild tailgating either. There were folks grilling lobsters and roasting whole pigs in their respective tailgating areas. Some brought pick-ups and buses with incredible orange and blue designer paint jobs, some of which were custom built for the 50th anniversary of the Broncos existence. Everyone was bundled up to brave the chilly weather, but made sure their Broncos apparel was visible.
Despite all the orange and blue in the parking lot, the Broncos went back to their retro colors for the game, sporting mustard yellow and brown, and stunned all the Patriot fans in attendance (there were a lot) with a win, taking their record to 5-0. Surely the commitment of Broncos fans filling the stadium to the brim didn't hurt.
