Lingerie Football League season heats up in Denver
More than just a tight end
September 16, 2009
The Mile High City's other gridiron team, the Lingerie Football League's Denver Dream, hit the field at Dick's Sporting Goods Park this week for one final practice before they face the Los Angeles Temptation in Friday's home opener.
In case anyone was confused, LFL players really do wear pads, stiffarm defenders and crush each other into the turf on every play. But they also wear "American Gladiators"-style spandex outfits and spend a lot of time choreographing touchdown celebrations that seem to revolve around booty shaking. What all of this adds up to is a high-impact Friday night experience that's either the height of equal-opportunity entertainment or cynical exploitation. Either way, your friendly neighborhood Metromix team is in.
Tickets to Friday's game are still available. The Dream next plays at home on Oct. 9.
