"Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian" Premiere
Premiere Location: The National Air and Space Museum
May 14, 2009
The stars were out last night on the National Mall for the "monumental” premiere of this summer's blockbuster: Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian. With the press photographers clicking away Ben Stiller, Amy Adams, Owen Wilson, Hank Azaria, Robin Williams, Ricky Gervais, Writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, and Director Shawn Levy walked the red carpet at the National Air and Space Museum.
Despite gloomy weather, the cast was thrilled to be in the District. Ricky Gervais, writer of The Office and Dr. McPhee in the film, called the weather a “bit balmy” and mentioned that he visited the White House earlier in the day. “I was looking for the dog,” joked Gervais, referring to the new First Dog, Bo. Robin Williams, who recently underwent heart surgery and is reprising his role as Teddy Roosevelt in the second installment of the Night at the Museum franchise joked his way down the red carpet. When asked about what he liked about DC he said that it’s a bit strict – people kept saying to him “Don’t Touch,” and “get out of Amelia Earhart’s plane!” This is the first film to have shot inside the Smithsonian. History will be brought alive again as Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian opens in theatres nationwide May 22nd.
