Where there is beer, we are there

The winding road above Boulder doesn’t only offer great views of our beautiful state; it also houses one of the best restaurants in all of Colorado. The Flagstaff House has been owned by the Monette family since 1971. Over the years, their staff only continues to be top of the line. The Flagstaff House is upscale dining on the edge of the Flatirons at 6,000 feet. Now that is what Colorado is all about.

Our trip to Flagstaff House wasn’t the usual one. We weren’t heading up their for our prom date, to propose or to sample one of their wines (they have over 3,000 different selections of wine). Oh no. We were heading up to the Flagstaff House for the Avery Brewing Company beer pairing dinner. After all, that’s how we roll: when there is beer, we are there.

Heck, we figured: Two famously local companies coming together? How can we possibly pass this one up?

Avery Brewing Company opened in 1993 by a man who had a beer dream: This man’s name is Adam Avery. We here at Metromix like to call him “Double A.”

Double A says it best himself, “My love of beer began as an infant. My aunt would put a few drops of the precious liquid on my pacifier to ease the pain of teething.”
