Celebrating our two fave words: Beer and summer
Bitter sweet. Two words that describe beer and the end of the summer. Bitter, we hope, describes beer less and the end of summer more—and that was definitely the case at Summer Brew Fest 2009.
Taking place at Mile High Station every year, Summer Brew Fest is a mini and more intimate Great American Beer Fest (October’s beer event at the Colorado Convention Center). Patrons got to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather, enjoy a beer, live music, a great view of Invesco and a sunset—it’s Denver’s definition of perfect.
Summer Brew Fest has two tastings: The VIP tasting occurred from 6 p.m.-7 p.m., where for $10 more, you could be the first to taste the “best brews available!" Then, the event continued until 10 p.m. with live music, snacks and socializing, and autographs from Phil Harris, star of TV's Deadliest Catch!
Boasting more than 80 beers, Summer Brew Fest guests sampled from over 25 breweries. Plus, the profits from ticket sales benefited Swallow Hill: Denver's Home for Folk, Roots and Acoustic Music.
Winter Brew Fest is coming up—so, if you missed this one—don’t worry, there’s plenty more drinking to do.
