Metromix help throw a bash that brings Bourbon Street to Denver
The usually quiet and rather business-ish section of town erupted into a crazed spectacle of beads, masks and riotous dancing on Saturday night as Metromix along with Kevin Taylor Presents threw the Mardi Gras 2011 party at the Marriott Hotel in the Denver Tech Center.
Those who haven't been to a party hosted by Metromix or Kevin Taylor Presents, first should slap themselves on the wrist for missing the hottest parties in town, but will also be dissappointed to know what exactly they missed on Saturday. The atrium of the hotel was transformed into a bonafide dance club/Mardi Gras parade on the weekend before Fat Tuesday. Some amazing masks and costumes were on-hand and complete with bright colors, feathers and, of course, copius amounts of beads. The event included a variety of perfomers and dancers including jugglers, stilt-walkers, and a lady in a giant clear ball. The DJ pumped everyones favorite jams making it clear that the hotel in Denver's business district was anything but asleep.
A few hip-hop artists and performers took the stage and rocked the crowd intermittenly during the night. Only Burbon Street could out do a party like this...maybe!—Josh Barrett, Special to Metromix
