Great Divide 15th Anniversary Party
A crowd of eager beer enthusiasts had already assembled when Great Divide Brewing Company threw open the doors for their 15th Anniversary Party on Saturday, June 6th. After the almost acorn-sized hail the night before, everything fell into alignment as the sun shone brightly and the beer flowed freely at the Denver brewing institution.
The music bill was most likely not hard to fill, but was definitely hard to top as "Young Coyotes" kicked things off followed by 'The Swayback" and finally "Dressy Bessy," who used to hold band practice in the back of the brewery when both were still green.
The annual party continues to grow and the several hundred folks who made it down, all became fast friends as they discussed the finer points of big beer and gallantly tried to taste all of the rare and specially aged brews Great Divide rolled out for the occasion.
Once the last notes from Dressy Bessy had faded into the late afternoon Mile High milieu, those eager to get in at first were equally apathetic about leaving. Fortunately, the brewery’s Tap Room is open six days a week, and while it might not offer the same scale of revelry as the anniversary party, it will at least provide space to imbibe and while away the time until next year.
