The heat wave never looked or tasted so good
People underestimate the power of Colorado summers. For some reason, the rest of the country pictures snow and skiing whenever our state is mentioned in conversations. Sure if you’re talking about January we have our share of flakes, but besides Florida, which state doesn’t suck in the middle of January?
As for May through September, our weather in Colorado is amazing. No humidity, being closer to the sun makes for better tanning and cool nights add the perfect touch to our summers. Luckily for Rockies fans, May through September pretty much sums up the entire baseball season.
But what about those days where you have killer tickets to Coors Field but you are so hot you’d rather consider skipping the game and taking a one-way pass to Water World? Whatever you do: Don’t bail on the game. We have the cure to your hot summer blues that will not only get you to the ballpark, but will happily get you there. The Tavern Downtown offers "Slurpees on crack," or more appropriately: frozen cocktail machines.
And fine, we can't send you off to Coors Field with just a stomach filled with vodka. We have two greasy food suggestions that will hit your game day out of the ballpark.–Erica Boniface, Metromix
