Get Your Flirt On
Where the hot guys roam
March 28, 2008Martini Ranch
1317 14th St. - DenverLet’s hope that if a club has ‘martini’ in its name that they can shake and shimmy some tasty beverages. Located in Larimer Square, this night club offers you 50 different house martinis. Wowsers. Could you imagine trying all of them in one night?! (If you do, please contact us we need to know you). The tri-leveled building is the hotspot to hit up for a randy night on the town. If you can’t stay in one place and you like to people-watch, you can groove your way through three levels of pure fun. Don’t worry if martinis aren’t your bag baby, they also have beer and a full bar for other mixtures. Get ready to dance your tail off—this club has some of the best DJs around. Not to mention VIP bottle service. In the words of Zoolander regarding the crowd at Martini Ranch, “They are really really good looking.”
The Foundry Billiards Club
1109 Walnut St. - BoulderAhhh, The Foundry. Where to start? Well, for one, this place is a single’s haven—a meat market, a “come over here baby and play with my pool stick” sort of place. It is popular by many college-goers, middle-aged pool hussies and all the great wonders of Boulderites. You can order food such as some artery-clogging nachos and other ‘bar foods’ to tie you over for the night. The food is definitely needed because once the sun goes down this place turns into a part-ay. You can strut your stuff at the pool tables in the lower level or head up to the rooftop with the best view in town. This place gets two thumbs up fo shizzy our nizzy’s. You have to support a place that buys a flat-screen TV in honor of the Rockies during the World Series, right?!
Cowboy Lounge
1941 Market St. - DenverYou can leave your spurs and assless chaps at home (although we just got into a deep conversation that all chaps are indeed assless if you don't sport them with trousers) for this tromping good time. It truly is a boot-scootin’ bar for all you rodeo-lovers, but it also welcomes in a huge mix of people as well. They play their share of cowboy music which draws the line-dancers to the floor but also will play some good ol’ rock music as well. With a huge circular bar and spacious dance floor all you add is the diverse DJ and big screen playing rodeo highlights into the mix, and you’re destined to have an amusing night. Fergie lovers—they refuse to play her, so don’t even try to request her.
Purple Martini DTC
8000 E. Belleview Ave., #D30 - Greenwood VillageOne of the first martini lounges in Denver, the Purple Martini has become DTC’s hotspot for the 'business class' after a long day of work. With sister locations in LoDo and Boulder, a diverse crowd of all ages frequent this popular bar. Open daily until 2 a.m., you can choose from a list of over 75 different martinis, including the infamous 'purple one,' (come on they can't be named the Purple Martini if they don't have a flippin' purple one, right?) while lounging, mingling or dancing to the DJ’s mix of hip-hop, R&B, rap and top 40 hits.
Tavern Uptown
538 E. 17th Ave. - DenverTobacco enthusiasts averse to the smoking ban or those simply wishing to imbibe in the quasi-open air may want to adopt Tavern Uptown as their de facto watering hole. An outdoor, heated patio section, enclosed in the winter, offers an escape from the cold and windswept sidewalk and features a full bar. Non-smokers can enjoy second-hand smoke of another sort from the historical tavern's roaring fireplace surrounded by worn-in leather couches. Fancy yourself an amateur mixologist? Come in on the weekends for brunch and create your own Bloody Mary elixirs.
