Lazy Dog Sports Bar & Grill

Lazy Dog Sports Bar & Grill

Dogs are a man’s best friend, and that’s definitely true with this sports bar. Located on the Pearl Street mall, it is hard to find a local who has never been to the “dog”. It’s got a good-sized bar where you can watch your favorite sports team, a dining room where you can watch your favorite sports team, and yes, a patio (yup, you guessed it) where you can watch your favorite sport’s team. They even have a game room located downstairs. During the summer, locals flock to their patio to enjoy fresh air, beer and food. Sports are a great touch to any place but they also take it up a notch with having frequent bands jamming out. They have 16 beers on tap and some booze mixtures that will help cure your headaches during your CU finals.

The West End Tavern

The West End Tavern

926 Pearl St. - Boulder

Everyone loves something new, whether it’s a new pair of shoes or a crisp pair of Underoos. That’s why we’re excited to tell you the West End has a new menu and a new patio and bar. Sweet. They are praised with their wide selection of Bourbon so go ahead, spike your cola. So now that we have your cola spiked with Bourbon let’s move on to your appetizers. Deviled eggs with bacon are always a tasty treat that goes down nicely with bourbon or some spicy buffalo wings…it’s your choice on this one. As for your entrée their fish tacos, basil steak and bbq ribs are good picks. If you’re heading there and it’s a Sunday, you’re in luck—that’s when they have live music on their patio. Put on your new shoes and Underoos and stop on by.

The b.side Lounge

The b.side Lounge

Formerly known as Trilogy Wine Bar, this nightlife spot is where the music is. Winos: this place was made for you. With over 100 wines to tickle your fancy, this restaurant is like 2-in-1 shampoo. It’s not just a restaurant, it’s an excellent music venue as well. Holding more than 150 people in the backroom, many bands have jammed out in this venue. Namedropping time: The Thrills and Adam Green are two groups that have visited this fabulous venue. And it is a place to check out up-and-comers. We’ve covered their wine list but you need to know they have a bottomless wine happy hour! Yup, whip out your Tylenol because this place is wine-terific!

Boulder Draft House

Boulder Draft House

2027 13th St. - Boulder

On top of an interesting food menu (ratatouille, anyone?) and a respectable beer list, the Draft House brings in live music every night. There's also plenty of room to dance. Stop by for the daily happy hour and $2.50 Tuesdays.

Catacombs Bar

Catacombs Bar

2115 13th St. - Boulder
303-442-4344

Since Catacombs used to be a speak-easy during Prohibition days, it’s not surprising to learn that it’s the proud owner of the first liquor license in Boulder. The bar is in the basement of the Hotel Boulderado and has a Happy Hour worth bragging about (think $1 domestics and well drinks and $2 microbrews from 4:30 p.m.-9 p.m.). There are seven cavernous rooms decorated with local photography, pool tables, and a clientele ranging from students to the seasoned goers lounging on couches. You can order burgers at the restaurant upstairs or punish your arteries with some finger-licking bar snacks like nachos and hot wings from the Happy Hour and late night menu.

The Walrus

The Walrus

1911 11th St. - Boulder
303-443-9902

After slowly killing your liver at the Walrus, you might be up for doing some midnight gardening after you pass out on your walk home. Although the lardy, social animal of the Atlantic doesn’t eat peanuts, you will when you enter the Walrus—you’ll lose all your etiquettes your grandma taught you as you dive in the barrel for a scoop of nuts. You’ll even go the extra mile by throwing your shells on the floor. This grogmill will allow you to see-double with virtually no cost while listening to Clarence Carter’s “Strokin.”

Boulder Beer Company

You may be wondering why Boulder has a brewery. After all, there's a University there - shouldn't those kids be studying?
