There are myriad reasons to appreciate living in the times we do. Chief among them is the advent of extended happy hours. Obviously when the term was invented it referred to a single hour in which to be happy and enjoy discounted drinks. No wonder there was the Great Depression and two World Wars, people were broke and angry. Thankfully bar proprietors realized that cheap drinks would stave off depression and keeping patrons happy would prevent conflict. We should all be grateful to places like McCarthy's Pub for boosting our collective morale by giving us nine hours to tipple on the cheap.
