Beta Nightclub
1909 Blake St. - Denver303-383-1909
This place is a joke. What a bunch of crooks! Went there for my bday and spent $1000 for 2 bottles. The scandalous waitress kept bringing bottles to the table and opening them without telling us. Noone go there! Never have I ever been treated and scammed like this ever. The BBB is working on a complaint right now. You suck beta!!!
Report This ReviewAs a preface: I have NEVER written a review on Yelp, much less one so strong worded!
Having been a frequent visitor of Rise nightclub in the past, I was up for another visit to this space. My husband and I were looking for a fun place to hang out and spend NYE 2010. The line up looked good and we committed to the online purchase of advance tickets for the price of $20 to get in the door. The ticket purchase was easy and available for pick up at the will-call window that evening. My girlfriend and her boyfriend joined up in plans to ring in the New Year at Beta.
The 4 of us got to the club via Taxi ride at about 10 p.m. We had no wait to get in, and though the coat check line was overpriced at $3 per jacket, and the line was 30 min. long, the club was only moderately packed. Weather in Denver this night was the coldest of the year, with the gauge reading 3 degrees F at about this time.
The night proceeded as expected, with plenty of dancing, and the normal "migratory" patterns a group of people take at a nightclub goes. We visited the bar twice, ordering Vodka and diets. The NY was rung in, and the dancing continued.
At about 1 a.m., my Husband was making his way to the bathroom when he was ambushed by 4 Bouncers who escorted him out of the nightclub, and onto the front of Blake Street. He had not started a fight, he had not vomited, he had not passed out, and he had not spilled his drink. At the most, he'd stumbled in the pitch-black hallway that was filled with 50 other equally intoxicated patrons. Now out in the cold, he found himself angry, and left to plead with the Bouncers for the retrieval of his coat. My husband argued with the Bouncers for approximately 10 min. or so before the Bouncer reluctantly retrieved his coat (and mine, since my husband was carrying the ticket for mine too). The door men NEVER offered to call my husband a cab, NEVER offered to get his jacket, expecting him to "wonder" around on the streets in less than humane clothing!
I had wondered out looking for my husband, thinking I saw him get dragged outside from my spot across the dance floor. I had been drinking too, and perhaps was not making the best judgment calls, but the doorman would not allow me back into the club to get my jacket either! I was in a very thin sweater with no hat, jacket, gloves, or scarf to walk home in. I saw walk, because there was no cab to been seen, nor did anybody offer to help me out when I protested that I was cold. My Husband found me about 15 min. later (probably once the Bouncer returned with our jackets).
The staff at Beta is hypocrites. You should not promote the consumption of alcohol on their premises, charge a stiff ticket price for NO perks, and then JUDGE the very patrons their making money on, and feel like its okay to treat them worse than the Denver homeless. Shame on you, Beta.
I'd like RIse ownership back, is this how you treat patrons when you're a "top club in the country"?
Report This ReviewBeware, even though you paid $30+ to get into a "top" night club, that doesn't compare to any of the clubs in Miami, you still may have serious issues using your tickets.
There is one person working the Will Call/Ticket office at Beta, and he is not the sharpest tool in the shed. This guy has serious problems if you have purchased one or more tickets. If your entire party doesn't arrive together, you will not be allowed to enter until they are all present. While waiting for our party, a chubby 20year old girl, dressed like a slut, walked up to the genius at the box office, told him her friends were arrving at different times, he handed her cards for hard tickets, no questions asked, while I was standing right there, witnessing the entire thing.
I could have walked out to the street, find some chubby little tramp and handed her a WaWa twinkie, or whatever it is those Snookie types eat, and asked her to pick up my tickets...
I hope this gets posted, and I hope there is a manager I am able to track down to explain the situation I encountered at the Box Office on 10/14/2010.
Well its been several months since the opening of Beta Nightclub, and the business is right on track with is statement of "Club Culture Evolving" the line-up over the past few months has been STELLAR with the coming months only to be more impressive (Carl Cox, Deadmau5, Tiesto, Kaskade, and Sander van Doorn). This club is killing it!
