Armida’s is one of Denver’s most popular Mexican restaurants that just so happens to transform into a favorite karaoke spot at night. Located in an old house on Lincoln Street, the wood beamed, mural-lined interior is simple, but comfortable for dining. At night none of that matters, as crowds gather to partake in karaoke. The weekends are busy, but the weeknights can be mellow. It is a popular place to take large groups of people for special events. A sprawling patio frames the front of the building. If Ogden Street South is, as advertised, Wash Park's best kept secret, then someone's got some extremely loose lips. This place is normally packed with uninhibited revelers belting out their favorite karaoke classics and receiving standing ovations no matter how garbled or inharmonic the performance was. A college hangout, it's supremely feasible to get plastered here without having to take out any additional student loans.

After slowly killing your liver at the Walrus, you might be up for some midnight gardening after you pass out on your walk home. Although the lardy, social animal of the Atlantic doesn’t eat peanuts, you will when you enter the Walrus—you’ll lose all theetiquette your grandma taught you as you dive in the barrel for a scoop of nuts. You’ll even go the extra mile by throwing your shells on the floor. This grogmill combines the pleasures by allowing you to see double while listening to Clarence Carter’s “Strokin.”

The Wild West lives on - sort of - in this "no balls, no glory" south Lakewood tavern. Don't let its strip mall appearance fool you from the outside; it's huge once you're through the door, with 9,000 square feet of pool tables, a dance floor and bar space to keep your evening lively. Ask the managers and they'll describe it like it is: loud, dingy, dark and kinda trashy. Cover bands take over the stage on weekends, and local acts of all genres have their turn on school nights. Capitalizing on Colorado's cow town image, the Electric Cowboy nightclub offers a distinctive mix of boot-stomping spirit and dance floor sophistication. Though the club draws on a cowboy theme and decor, its events offer enough mainstream music and bar events to please even the most urban city-slicker. An average week at the Electric Cowboy features Karaoke, trivia, Ladies' Night and Retro Night, with a cover charge ranging from $3 to $5. Live bands play every week, and the club features a spacious dance floor.
