The most simple way to verify that an establishment is a dive bar is to call and see how they answer the phone. It's not a true dive if they feel compelled to state the name of their business and ask how they can be of service to you. If they answer with a simple hello, they're well on their way. But any venue that lets an inebriated barfly answer the phone for them...well, ten points for BD Wolfs. With pool tables, dart boards, and drink prices too low to tell, you're bound to have one hell of a time in this one.
