Ray J. Some of you might know him as the little brother of R&B superstar, Brandy, but as of lately, you know him as the man from VH1's "For the love of Ray J." That is right, another schmuck reality show that sucked us all in from the beginning.
Monica “Danger” Leon was one of the last girls who hung in until the season’s end. You may recognize her as the chick with the tiger tattoo on her face. Or, from the popular episode where Ray J and his friends started chanting, “Danger, she smashed the homies. Danger, she smashed the homies.”
Ah, the classic moments of reality TV. After the first season of “For the love of Ray J” came to an end, Danger, is traveling around the U.S., and recently made a pit stop in Denver for an appearance at 303 Club.
We quickly found out that she is all sweet and a dash of spice–and definitely not a big talker as we tried to dig for as much gossip on the hit VH1 show as humanly possible.
Hey Danger! So you just flew in huh?
Yeah, I did.
So is this your first trip to the Mile High?
Is that what they call it?
Yeah, the Mile High City. So you can officially say you have joined the Mile High Club.
Oh okay. [Laughs]
Are you excited about the event at the 303 Club here in Denver?
Yeah I am pretty excited about it.
Since the first season “For the love of Ray J” just wrapped up on Monday, let’s talk about the show. Are you upset that Cocktail won?
No I am not. I knew she was going to win.
Oh so you had an inkling, huh?
Yeah.
Who was your least favorite in the house?
Unique was my least favorite girl in the house. But I knew that Cocktail was going to win.
So was it kind of an off camera thing that you just knew they hit it off better?
No I just knew. I mean I didn’t understand why Unique made it that long. I was confused by that. I think that the producers wanted to keep her around since we didn’t get along and just kept her for the drama.
Be honest. Did you really, honestly like Ray J?
Yeah, I did.
You did?
Uh huh.
So are you sad it didn’t work out?
I am not really sad, it happens for a reason.
Yeah, no kidding. We heard through the grapevine that you’re engaged to Nick Cannon’s brother, Gabriel?
Yeah, that is true.
So was he one of the homies you smashed?
No.
So did you meet him after the show?
Yes, I met him on New Year’s.
When is the big wedding?
Um, next year.
So you haven’t really set a date yet?
No.
For you, what was the most embarrassing part of being on the show?
Um, probably the “smash the homies” episode. That was probably the most embarrassing and the funniest. My 5-year-old nephew and 4-year-old niece running around my sister’s house saying, “Danger, she smashed the homies.”
[Laughs] Are you scared that is going to follow you wherever you go now?
I mean, I don’t think so. I am not losing sleep over it, like waking up in cold sweats or anything.
Got to say though, that was probably the best episodes. That was your least favorite?
Probably one of them. Pancakes. I never want to see another pancake as long as I live.
Is this true: Are you three months pregnant with Ray J’s baby?
No I am not pregnant.
Do you guys still stay in touch?
Yeah, we are friends.
What is the story behind the tiger tattoo on your face?
Um, I got it a little less than a year ago. And I just really love it. It is just a bold statement. I have always loved tattoos and I wanted to get something really strong and masculine on my face, that’s why I chose to get the tiger.
In terms of being on the show, did he really sleep around with the girls, or was that a big no-no?
Um, he could do whatever he wanted. It wasn’t like there were strict rules in the house.
So it did happen?
[Quietly] Yeah…
What is next for you beside being a sister-in-law to Mariah Carey?Um, I have been traveling all over the U.S. Like why I am here in Denver, just making different appearances. I am going to Alaska for the first time to do an appearance and I am really excited about that. So, just traveling.
So the show has definitely helped your career?
Yeah, I have my own radio talk show. Every week I am going to have different guests come on. Ray J is going to be my first guest. All of the information will be on my Web site (monicadanger.com).
Did Ray J and Cocktail work out? Are they still together?
I think they are.
You don’t know the dirt just yet?
No.
Or you know the dirt and you don’t want to tell us?
[Laughs]
Anything you want to add?
I am excited to see the sites of Denver. I am going to be at Club 303 tonight, so come out and see me.
