Matt Farley 'stache: The final hair

Well, the 6th Annual Mustache Festival at Vesta Dipping Grill is tomorrow...which means time is up for Metromix producer, Matt Farley. You see, we have been following Matt's 'stache growing for the past 16 days to see if he can grow a substantially rocking mustache for the festival. Since Matt is the only male staffer working for Metromix, he wasn't given a choice in this matter.

Quick 'stache recap: For week one, Matt had absolutely no hair. Metromix staffers suggested to start taking hair growth vitamins to help speed things along, but Matt was convinced he can make it work in the short time frame. By week two, Matt started growing out a goatee (apparently he didn't want to walk around with just a 'stache). At this time, Vesta Dipping Grill caught on to our challenge and sent out a newsletter with Matt's pathetic growing attempt out to all their customers—there really was no turning back now.

Friday, Feb. 5 at 12:59 p.m.: He has a bunch of hair on his chin, but man is he suffering above the lip. And now it's too late—Feb. 6 is here and the festival must go on without him...or his 'stache.

Friday, Feb. 5 at 1:10 p.m.: Citing irreconcilable differences, Matt and his mustache finally part ways. "We had a good run, but sometimes a person and his facial hair just drift apart. I care deeply about Stachy and continue to support it in all of its future endeavors." Sources say the grief-stricken Metromix producer subsequently checked himself in to a substance abuse treatment facility near Sedona, Ariz., for counseling.

So there you have it. No one said growing a mustache was a safe proposition.
